Mall of Asia currently the Philippine’s largest and world’s third largest mall. Since its opening in May 2006, Filipinos considered it as a tourist destination, and a bargain haven for bargain hunters, as well as for retail business individuals.

Mall of Asia is owned by the same owners of SM chain of malls all over the country. Led by Chairman Mr. Henry Sy, Sr.

How to get to Mall of Asia:
1. If your from Manila:
Take a jeepney that plies along Taft Avenue or ride the LRT to Buendia Avenue.
2. If from Quezon City or South of Manila (Paranaque/Alabang):
Go straight to EDSA. Lots of buses that goes straight to Mall of Asia.

Survivor Philippines Screening, Day One

I arrived a bit late in SM North Edsa, the venue of the screening for Survivor Philippines. What awaited me was a sea of aspirants or should i say ambitious Filipinos, that including me, and according to my own very very accurate calculation was about 5,000.

But i went home at 6:30 whether i get interviewed or not since i have to go to work at 9:00 pm. Will go back to audition on Friday the 23rd in SM Manila.

11:50am when i arrived. Inside SM carpark, level 5

Between 1:00 to 2:00pm

Around 5pm

Me in a still excited mode.

Some aspirants i met. Only Chedorie’s (girl) name i got, others please holler me your name here. My apologies.

I forgot or i did not get their names. These people eschewed my exhaustion. Thanks to you. Heheh

Shangrila Plaza Ortigas

I seldom buy or eat at Shangri-la Plaza. Presently, my money is not enough to purchase some stuff there. In God’s time when he increases my income, i will buy all those high priced items on display, hahaha. Although there are still a number of stores and fastfood shops that a middle class Filipino in Metro Manila can afford.

The place is worth a visit!

SM Megamall Sports Sale

Grab the chance of buying cheap priced branded sports items from Umbro, Reebok, Vans and Rockport at SM MegaMall at the Trade Hall 2. Sale is on going last Wednesday Feb 28 up to Sunday(?) March 2, 2008.

Items on sale are, shoes for men, women and a few for the kids. Tshirts, shorts, bags.

I bought a Reebok knapsack for 400 pesos and two Umbro wallets for 100 pesos each.

This is one of the reasons why i like Metro Manila! Hehe…

Makro Versus SM Hypermart

Makro is literally warehouse type of a department store which offer low wholesale prices to its members. In my opinion their membership method is a bane for the expansion of their business. They could have long grown faster if not for this membership.

Their prices is not really low compared to SM Hypermart. I once attempted to apply for membership, i bought a American Home personal ref for 5,299 pesos, but they don’t accept Citibank credit cards so i wen’t to SM Supermart (not Hypermarket) instead and the same ref was priced at 5, 149 pesos. The ref is now with me for four months at the time of this writing. I happened to go shopping at SM Hypermart in Mall of Asia, and i saw the American Home personal ref priced at 4,999 pesos! It’s even cheaper than SM Supermart.

SM Hypermarket, i like! Having said above, i will go to SM Hypermarket for my grocery or shopping needs and wants. No membership and no wholesale quantity requirement, but even cheaper.

Bonifacio High Street

Bonifacio High Street is located in the Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. I highly recommend this mall for those who are seeking a not so crowded place to hang out, dine, and to shop.

Bonifacio High Street is squared U shaped in plan enclosing an open court. This is completely different from the malls around Metro Manila. The shops that surrounds the court probably has three floors at the most.
