These photos of España Boulevard was taken on March 2009. The area is in University of Sto. Tomas. I was a bit apprehensive of going further, but maybe i will add more photos in the Quezon City side of España Blvd.

I miss this place.

These photos are completely free to use for any purposes. I appreciate if you put credits or link to my site, but not required.

Mendicants or Manglilimos in Manila

A mendicant is a beggar. In tagalog, it’s manglilimos. You could find a lot of them roaming the streets of Metro Manila cities.

Just about an hour ago in a 7-11 store where i went in to eat my supper. I saw two ladies counting coins, lots of them. They appear to be Badjaos, one of the tribes originally from Mindanao.

They were doing the counting in the table which i also use to put my meal. While they were doing their thing I also mentally counted one of the lady’s money. It was more than 1,000 pesos (20$). An earning of one person only.

An average construction worker is only earning 300 pesos a day (6$). Had to injure heat and risk of an accident. While these beggars just sit or stand in one corner pretending to be poor.

Don’t fall for their antics.

Photos of Rizal Park at Night

Rizal Park is built in dedication to the Philippine’s National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal. It is located in Manila, bounded by four (4) major streets – Padre Burgos, Taft Avenue, Roxas Boulevard and TM Kalaw Sr.

It used to be originally called Bagumbayan (New Town) prior to the American occupation.

This was an unplanned shoot. My intention was to go to watch Aliw Festival in Quirino Grandstand, and take photos there of a cultural dance competition held last April 25, 2009. I took several shots, but these are the better ones.
